1. Biro Akademik - Pn Lim Yat Lee

The main task of this Biro is to assist the school administrator in improving the students academic achievements and performance. The Biro will help identify and bridge the gaps in empowering the students to excell and propel SMK Bandar Sunway to be the top school in the Petaling Perdana District. One of the main tasks is to find ways to make the 'Kelas Tambahan' offered by the school to be more effective.

The PMR results in 2007 indicated an improvement over the 2006's performance. However this needs to be further enhanced.

PMR result for Year 2005-2006 & 2007 - weak subjects are Tamil, Engish, Maths & Mandarin 62% to 76%.

2. Biro Disiplin - Sjn Sundaras AL Munianyan

The main challenge for this Biro is to initiate activities to improve disciplines among the students. This Biro, together with the Discipline and Counselling Teachers organise ceramah sessions from time to time with gueast speakers from Police Diraja Malaysia to create awareness on common offences which could get the students the other side of the law. Students with poor disciplinary records are invited for counselling sessions which at times also involve their parents.

Below are news reports on the type of issues affecting secondary school students. What started off as minor disciplinary discretions may later lead to the cause of moral problems.

3. Biro Keceriaan - En. Lazim B Sakel

One of the main concerns of many parents is the school environment which ought to be conducive to generate students minds towards excellent performance. The main task of this Biro Keceriaan is therefore to improve the physical outlook and facilities of the school compound. The school, with the fund channeled through the Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah Petaling Perdana, has carried out major repair works of toilets, drains and walkways. The computer lab has also been repaired and repainted. The process which started with the building of the covered walkway from the main building to Dewan Budiman and the subsequent gotong royong to paint the class room and perimeter brick fence last year will be continued this year. The Biro is now looking at other repair works to replace the damaged doors and glass louvres in the class room. Works will also be done to improve the landscape features within the school such as the Taman Sains and Taman Pendidikan Khas. All these actvities would require extensive fund.

4. Biro Kebajikan - Mr. Ramachandren

Although Kebajikan or welfare is very wide, the Biro is looking specifically to the immediate need of the needy students in the school. In view of the need to better understand the student background and profiles the Biro is undertaking a major survey or Kaji Selidik to be carried out among the students. Through this feedback, the Biro hopes to come up with suitable programs to set up a mechanism which could assist those needy students especially those sitting for major public exams like PMR & SPM.

5. Biro Korikulum - Mr. Krishna Moorthy

While academic excellence is the main trust and focus of SMK BS, co-curriculum activities have also propelled SMK BS to the top among the schools in the district. Among the achievements are in the English Drama, Forum, Debating, Nasyid, Syarahan as well as in hockey and rugby. The school reached the state level finals in some of these activities after becoming champions at the zone and district levels. With the conclusion of major co-curriculum activities culminating in the Kejohanan Olahraga Kali Ke - 8 recently, the Biro will look at other supporting initiatives to sustain the interest.

6. Biro Pendidikan Khas - En Mohd Sofian Ali

This Biro looks specifically into the affairs of the students in the Pendidikan Khas Program. The program at SMK BS is one of the selected Pendidikan Khas Program in Selangor. Over the years this program has been getting good support from the Sunway Group. Apart from offering training opportunities the Sunway Group has also incorporated this job placement program as one of their Corporate Responsibility Focus Areas (Education) [refer Sunday STAR - Starmag SM9 on 4th May 2008]

Other programs planned for the year include the Outbound type program to Tioman Island, the Medical Camp under the Sunway Medical Centre and regular ten pin bowling sessions at Sunway Pyramid Mega Lanes.
